The Founder of Islam was Prophet Mohammad. He was born in the city of Mecca (मक्का) in Arabia around 570AD in the Qureshi tribe.

His Father was Abdulla  and Grandfather was Hashim of the Qureshi Tribe.

Prophet Mohammad's father died before his birth & his mother Amina also passed away at 6 years of his age.

He was brought up by his Uncle Abu Talib.

As the financial position of his uncle was not good. 

  • When He was about 25 years of age he married a rich widow Khadiya (No information of life before 40).
  • At the age of 40, Muhammad experienced a long spiritual experience which is also referred to as the appearance of the divine scene of Truth.
  • As a consequence of the experience that Muhammad got he became so sure that was a 'Nabi' (perfect man) and 'Rasul' (prophet).
  • He firmly believed that Allah was the only God and he himself was his prophet.
  • He preached to the people that the Goddesses (main 3 being Lot, Manat and Uzza) did not exist at all.
  • For about 3 years Islam was preached not as legal. 
  • After this he started preaching Islam openly as a Divine Precept.
  • But in 619AD his uncle and his wife died and the new Chief of the Qureshi Tribe Abu Zehel ceased to give protection to him.
  • As Muhammad opposed idol worship, the tradition bound and superstitious people of the tribe started opposing him and in 622AD he had leave Mecca and go to Medina. This event is known as Hijira.
Hijira:- Migrating from one place to another place.

  • This is considered the 1st year of the Muslim Calendar.On reaching Medina, Muhammad got constructed a mosque wherein the prophet and his disciples used to read Namaz regularly. 
  • Gradually the followers of Islam increased.Muhammad became popular because of his personality 'Charisma' and peaceful conquests. 
  • He not only repelled the invasion by Mecca on 3 times but also occupied Mecca peacefully.
